Programs
Workshops, the recording archive, and our scholarship fund.
Community workshops
Free monthly workshops for all levels, from “I’ve never touched a banjo” to “help me clean up my drop-thumb.” Instruments are available to borrow.
The field-recording archive
We collect, digitize, and preserve recordings of traditional players — many of them the last carriers of regional tunes and styles. The archive is open to researchers, students, and the merely curious.
Instrument scholarships
Cost should never be the reason a young person can’t learn. Our scholarship fund places open-back banjos in the hands of students who need them, along with a year of free lessons.
